Book Summary of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
The Harry Potter series is one of the most popular books ever published. And it is not hard to see why. The storyline is fantastic, the characters are believable and the plot keeps you turning pages. But there is a lot to know about the series and the book, and this article will help you get a grip on all the important elements.
Character growth
If you have read any of the Harry Potter books, you will probably have noticed that the characters change over time. While they each go through their own personal growth process, there are also some main characters who go through more significant transformations.
In the first novel of the series, Harry is a very young child. He’s teased and bullied by his cousin Dudley, and he’s even ostracized by his own family. At the same time, he receives help from a friend named Ron Weasley. They start to learn to play Quidditch together. Their confidence builds up, and they begin to take a more active role in the school’s activities.
In the second novel, Harry is a teenager. He’s also a member of the Order of the Phoenix, an organization formed to battle Voldemort. After surviving a series of unfortunate events, he becomes the leader of the group. However, he must sacrifice himself to save others. This leads to the death of Lord Voldemort.
In the fifth book of the series, the character of Harry Potter grows in many ways. His newfound confidence helps him overcome his fears of death. It also helps him make the right choices to defeat Voldemort. And he’s finally able to see the real Dumbledore.
He’s also able to tap into wisdom with the help of others. For instance, he learns about wand lore from Professor Lupin, and he even gets to see the son of Lily Potter.
Another major character in the series is Remus Lupin. He’s the former Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher of Harry, and he has advanced knowledge of magic and defense. But he’s also a werewolf, and he’s been through a lot of pain and prejudice.
Hermione is also a very smart character. She’s been very helpful to Harry, and she’s learned how to read people. She’s also very brave. Not only is she willing to jump into the lion’s mouth to rescue Harry, but she’s also smart enough to know that she should follow the rule book.
One of the most interesting aspects of the book is the way that the different factions of the school are represented. The wizarding world is full of characters who are very different from one another. The author of the Harry Potter series uses several techniques to bring these people into focus.
As for the characters, the novel is very well done. While there’s no magic potion or spell to turn Harry into a perfect soldier, there is a good bit of mental and emotional development. The novel also introduces the concept of split loyalties.
Finally, the book has a “coming-of-age” moment in the final chapter. This scene, while not necessarily a plot point, is important in the movie version.
Secret organisation
The Order of the Phoenix is one of the most important secret organisations in the Harry Potter series. It was founded by Albus Dumbledore to fight the dark forces and the Death Eaters. Members of the Order are powerful witches and wizards. They work together to help Harry Potter defeat the evil Voldemort.
Although the Order of the Phoenix was created to fight the Death Eaters, many of its members were killed in the process. In fact, the Order was temporarily disbanded during this period of time. However, when Harry Potter informed Albus Dumbledore that Lord Voldemort was returning to the Wizarding World, Dumbledore revived the organisation. He brought back many of the original members.
As the Order of the Phoenix fought against the Dark Lord, Harry Potter and his friends had to face numerous challenges. One of these was to retrieve the magical eye from Mad-Eye. This was a spell that would greatly diminish Voldemort’s powers. After completing this task, Harry buried the magic eye at the base of an old tree.
Another challenge that Harry faced was the death of his parents. Both of them were members of the Order of the Phoenix. Lily and James defied Voldemort three times. Despite his threats, Voldemort asks them to join him in a quest to destroy the wizarding world.
Eventually, the Order of the Phoenix defeated Voldemort. It was then that the Ministry of Magic began admitting that Voldemort was back. But this did not stop the Death Eaters from attacking the Order. There were over twenty times as many Death Eaters as there were Order members. When this occurred, a number of Order members were forced to kill Muggles.
Among the Order of the Phoenix’s most prominent members are the Dursleys and the Longbottoms. These two families were the primary targets of the Order when it was first formed. Neville Longbottom intentionally made the stays at their houses unpleasant. Despite this, the Dursleys continued to send Harry to him.
The Dursleys were initially shocked to learn that their son was involved in the anti-Voldemort movement. However, they were later escorted into hiding by Hestia, a member of the Advance Guard. She also helped Harry escape from their house.
Many other characters from the Harry Potter franchise also served as members of the Order of the Phoenix. These include Harry’s parents Lily and James Potter, and Severus Snape. Additionally, Bellatrix Lestrange, a witch who is the girlfriend of Harry’s best friend Ron Weasley, was a member of the Order.
Another character who portrayed an Order of the Phoenix member is Kingsley Shacklebolt. He was the senior Auror of the Order and also acted as an informer for the organization in the Ministry of Magic. His duties include searching for the mysterious Sirius Black.
Dumbledore’s demands
The Order of the Phoenix is a secret organisation, outside the Ministry of Magic, dedicated to fighting evil Lord Voldemort. Harry Potter, Ron, and Hermione join the organisation and fight in the Department of Mysteries. One of the members is Zacharias Smith, who is a chaser for the Hufflepuff Quidditch team. He is an irritating, confrontational, and unlikeable man.
The Order of the Phoenix operates independently of the Ministry of Magic, but is controlled by Albus Dumbledore. They use guerrilla raids and a secret organisation called Dumbledore’s Army to resist Dark Arts. It was formed in response to increased threats from the He Who Must Not Be Named.
Dumbledore’s Army was created to teach Harry practical Defence Against the Dark Arts. Initially, Harry resisted being in charge of the group, but eventually took on the leadership role. When Umbridge, the new Headmistress at Hogwarts, discovered Dumbledore’s group, she became convinced that they were a threat and tried to arrest them. However, a timely warning from Dobby thwarts her attempt.
Eventually, Dumbledore’s Army is discovered, and the members are resigned. As a result, Dumbledore is no longer Headmaster at Hogwarts. At this point, the Ministry is rounding up Muggle-borns on Voldemort’s orders.
After the Ministry attempts to apprehend Dumbledore, his followers take the opportunity to escape. This causes Umbridge to become the new headmaster. On the day that Dumbledore is to leave school, Harry calls on the members of the D.A., and all three join Harry, Ron, and Hermione in the battle. Unfortunately, the Ministry-approved theory that does not allow defensive spells to be practiced does not work, and all three wizards are unprepared.
In order to protect the group, Harry, Ron, and Hermione decide to use the Room of Requirement. It only appears when someone is in need of it. However, Hermione is reluctant to use the room. She thinks that Dean is overprotective. Ginny disagrees, thinking that he is pushy and overbearing.
In the sixth book of the series, Harry has been attacked by “dementors,” evil spirits that are not human. He has a vision of inhabiting a huge snake. But when he tries to make a potion, it fails. This leads to him having to rely on his magic for defence. His scar burns whenever a powerful emotion occurs.
Throughout the books, Harry has always hated Snape. Although he is a capable Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher, he is often cruel and strict. Nevertheless, his presence has encouraged Harry to stand up to the Ministry of Magic. Ultimately, Dumbledore’s demands to train Harry to be a great leader of the Order of the Phoenix have helped to bring him into the limelight.
By the time Harry finishes school, he has become a more confident and disciplined person. While at Hogwarts, Harry was also able to meet and form relationships with Cho Chang, Luna Lovegood, and several other members of Dumbledore’s Army.
