During the period of time that the bible was written, there were a number of different books written. These books include Numbers, Job, Deuteronomy, Hosea, Ezekiel, and Psalms. These books are a great source of information on God and the history of the Hebrew people.
Hosea
During the reign of Jeroboam II, Hosea began prophetic activity. He reaffirmed God’s promise to bless Israel in the future and denounced the worship of other gods.
The first three chapters of Hosea are a narrative based on his own experiences. The remainder of the book is composed of prophetic oracles. These oracles reveal the nature of judgment and God’s love. Ezekiel

Job is a story of a godly man who is confronted with suffering. He wonders why God has allowed him to live. He believes that a Redeemer will come. The Book of Job contains useful information about God and His sovereignty.
Job is one of the first literary works to contain poetic disputations. These disputations take place in a prologue that sets the scene for Job’s dilemma.
The book also contains unique terms not found elsewhere in the Bible. In chapter 38, God comes to Job’s rescue. He speaks in a three part dialogue.
Deuteronomy
Often called the Song of Moses, Deuteronomy is one of the five books of the Torah. It was written around fourteen hundred and six B.C. and was intended for the upcoming generation of Israelites entering the Promised Land.
The book is composed of speeches relating to the history of Israel. The speeches are meant to emphasize the importance of the laws of the Covenant to the people of Israel in Canaan.
In Deuteronomy, Moses tells the Israelites of many laws that had been previously communicated to them at the time of their Covenant with the Lord. He also teaches them the consequences of obeying or disobeying the laws that the Lord gave to them. He encourages them to keep the laws that had been given to them at the time of their Covenant. He teaches them how to live in the land of Canaan in accordance with the laws that he had given them.
Numbers
Among Jewish scriptures, the fourth book of the Bible, also known as Numbers, is a collection of episodes describing the journey of the Israelites from Mount Sinai to Canaan. It includes laws, history, and theology. It is part of the Pentateuch, a series of five books that tell the story of the origins of Israel. It is also included in the Christian scriptures.
